El Arsenal de la Carraca fue uno de los mayores centros militares españoles destinado a la construcción y reparación de buques, y al almacenamiento y distribución de armamento y munición, desde el siglo XVIII al siglo XX.[1] Actualmente sus terrenos, de más de cien hectáreas, están ocupados por una pequeña base militar y un grupo de astilleros.[2][3] La actual Base Naval de La Carraca sigue siendo la base de operaciones del buque escuela Juan Sebastián de Elcano.[4]
