El Instituto Nacional de Salud del Niño es la primera Institución pediátrica de referencia de alto nivel de complejidad médica, perteneciente al sistema de salud del MINSA, situada en el distrito de Breña de la ciudad de Lima, se trata del primer hospital pediátrico del Perú.
El Hospital del Niño fue inaugurado el 1° de noviembre de 1929, Como “Hospital Julia Swayne de Leguía”, nombre de la esposa del entonces Presidente de la República, culminando con éxito una gestión que 6 años antes iniciara la ilustre matrona, Presidenta de la Sociedad Auxiliadora de la Infancia, doña Juana Alarco de Dammert, llamada con justicia la “abuelita de los niños”.
