El Príncipe de Asturias fue un portaaviones para aviones STOVL de la Armada Española, buque insignia de la Flota. Junto a sus fragatas de escolta, formaba el Grupo de Proyección de la Flota. Fue botado en 1982, le fue entregada la bandera de combate en 1989 y fue dado de baja en 2013. En sus 24 años de servicio participó en varios despliegues navales internacionales, en particular durante la primera Guerra del Golfo de 1991, aunque no llegó a entrar en combate. El 9 de agosto de 2017 partió de Ferrol en su último viaje, hasta el puerto turco de Aliaga, para ser desguazado.
