El yacimiento arqueológico de Gatas está situado en el municipio de Turre, en la provincia de Almería, España y pertenece al grupo argárico. Se levanta sobre la meseta superior de un cabezo de 120 m de altura y difícil acceso en las estribaciones de Sierra de Cabrera. Sus coordenadas son 1º 53´ 6´´de longitud Oeste y 37º 7´ 46´´ de latitud Norte. La cota superior del cerro tiene una ubicación UTM WG993100. Está rodeado por ramblas, barrancos y manantiales, teniendo el mar a cinco km. Sus principales actividades eran las agrícolas y minero-metalúrgicas, documentadas por percutores y picos, minerales de cobre, piezas de desecho para refundir y un molde de hacha. Cuenta con murallas en las partes más accesibles y dos galerías subterráneas que, quizás, servían para proveerse de agua.[1]
