El Bosque de la Baga de Gresolet o Bosc de Gresolet está incluido en una de las subcuencas del río de Campllong dentro de un valle orientado de este a oeste y bautizada con el mismo nombre. Este valle está limitado al norte por la Muralla de les Balmes que pertenece al Cadí, al suroeste por la vertiente norte del Carrilet y al sureste por el extremo occidental de la sierra de Solivella. El bosque se distribuye en un rango de altitud que va, aproximadamente, desde los 1.000 m al fondo del valle hasta pasados los 2.000 a las cotas más altas. Esta zona es de transición climática y está caracterizada por un clima continental con influencia mediterránea, lo que aporta lluvias y suaviza las temperaturas.
