La denominación de Villaluenga viene dada por la forma estrecha y alargada que presenta el casco urbano. Es la ciudad más alta (858 m) ya la vez la más pequeña de la provincia de Cádiz. Se encuentra en pleno corazón del Parque Natural Sierra de Grazalema.
