El castillo, con su piso de la Asamblea de paneles rococó, fue el hogar de muchos personajes famosos y se convirtió en la residencia favorita de Luis XVI. Su jardín formal, adornado con canales y seis islas, contrasta con el jardín inglés del siglo XVIII. Entre sus tesoros se encuentra la Chaumière aux Coquillages, regalo del duque de Penthièvre a la princesa de Lamballe. La Lechería de la Reina alberga el grupo escultórico "Amalthée et la Nymphe" de Pierre Julien. Este lugar está catalogado como Jardín Notable.
