Fessenheim es una localidad y comuna francesa, situada en el departamento de Alto Rin, en la región de Alsacia. Sus habitantes reciben en idioma francés el gentílico de fessenheimois y fessenheimoises. Alberga la más antigua central nuclear de Francia.[3]
En el término municipal de Fesenheim está ubicada la central nuclear más antigua de Francia en operación y la única de Alsacia.[3] En abril de 2011, poco después del Accidente nuclear de Fukushima I en Japón, se realizaron manifestaciones solicitando su cierre inmediato, señalando que además de su antigüedad, se encuentra en una zona sísmica y sujeta a las inundaciones del río Rhin.[3] A esta unidad de producción de energía se añade la central hidráulica del Gran Canal de Alsacia.
