La abadía de Noirlac es un importante emplazamiento cisterciense en Europa. En el corazón de un bocage modelado por el río Cher, ofrece a sus visitantes la serenidad de su piedra rubia y la pureza de su arquitectura, sutilmente subrayada por la luz que se filtra a través de las vidrieras diseñadas por Jean-Pierre Raynaud
Centro de encuentro cultural desde 2008, la abadía ha desarrollado un proyecto cultural basado en el sonido y una variada programación artística. Los jardines diseñados por el paisajista Gilles Clément para el emplazamiento de Noirlac rediseñan los vínculos entre el orden arquitectónico del monumento y el desorden natural de las parcelas del bocage para magnificar el lugar e invitar al ensueño.
