El Château de Vallon-Pont-d'Arc es un castillo situado en la comuna homónima en el extremo sur del departamento de Ardèche. El primer castillo en la ciudad se encontraba en la colina conocida como Chastelas, al este de la ciudad actual. Fue incendiado en 1559 al comienzo de las Guerras de Religión, vuelto a construir y luego destruido nuevamente por las tropas protestantes del duque de Rohan en 1628. En 1629, tras la rendición de Privas, el rey Luis XIII liberó todos los lugares protestantes en Vivarais, incluido Vallon-Pont-d'Arc, y impuso una multa de diez mil livres a los habitantes protestantes y la obligación de construir un nuevo castillo para el señor de esa época, y donde decidió hacerlo.
