Septvaux, como los "siete" valles que lo rodean y los siete frontones de su iglesia, es un pequeño pueblo enclavado en el corazón del bosque. Aislado del mundo, el pueblo invita a pasear. Su iglesia románica del siglo XI domina un lavadero del siglo XII y vigila el bosque de Saint-Gobain. También es el punto de partida de la "Ruta Serpentina", que recorre el bosque.
