El collado de Ares, a 1.512 o 1.513 m de altitud, es un collado de montaña en los Pirineos, lugar de paso transfronterizo entre Francia y España. El lugar se menciona ya en 878 bajo la forma in Aras. Se encuentra a partir del siglo XIII bajo su forma actual de Ares con otras como Aris, Aras, Areis... En el siglo XIV, el collado también se llama Coll de Turtur.
