El zoo ocupa casi 10 hectáreas y cuenta con 400 animales de 64 especies diferentes, 29 de las cuales forman parte de un programa europeo de cría. El zoo de Lyon se convierte en un lugar privilegiado para la protección de la biodiversidad.
