La batalla de Hondschoote enfrenta a las tropas de la República Francesa con las de la Primera Coalición el 8 de septiembre de 1793. El general Houchard derrota al duque de York y Albany y libera Dunkerque. Esta victoria es capital para Francia en 1793, se produce después de varias derrotas y tendrá un impacto psicológico positivo considerable, especialmente porque será seguida poco tiempo después por una nueva victoria francesa en la batalla de Wattignies.
