La cervecería fue fundada en 1866 y en 1950, tras varias adquisiciones y fusiones, recibió el nombre de Brasserie Artesienne. La producción es de 45,000 hectolitros por año. Hasta 1985, la cervecería se enfocaba principalmente en el mercado regional. Ese mismo año, la cervecería fue comprada por el grupo Saint-Arnould y recibió el nombre de cervecería de Saint-Omer.
