El Pozo de Asedio se construyó entre 1679 y 1690 para abastecer de agua a la población civil. Tiene 60 m de profundidad y se alimenta de un manantial. Se le dio el nombre de Pozo a Prueba de Bombas por su enorme techo abovedado. De los 5 pozos excavados en el pasado, es el único que se conserva y ahora alberga la Oficina de Turismo del Gran Longwy.
El pozo de asedio es una de las paradas de la visita guiada a las fortificaciones de Vauban, inscritas en la Lista del Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO.
