Le Puits de Siège a été construit de 1679 à 1690 pour alimenter en eau la population civile. Il est profond de 60 m et alimenté par une source. Il a reçu l'appellation Puits à l'épreuve des bombes en raison de son énorme toiture voûtée. Des 5 puits creusés autrefois, il est le seul à subsister et abrite aujourd'hui l'Office de Tourisme du Grand Longwy.
Le Puits de Siège est une des étapes de la visite guidée des fortifications de Vauban, inscrites sur la Liste du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO.
