De Belegeringsput werd gebouwd tussen 1679 en 1690 om de burgerbevolking van water te voorzien. Het is 60m diep en wordt gevoed door een bron. Het kreeg de naam Bombproof Well vanwege het enorme gewelfde dak. Van de 5 putten die in het verleden zijn gegraven, is dit de enige die is overgebleven en waarin nu het VVV-kantoor van Groot-Longwy is gevestigd.
De Belegeringsput is een van de haltes van de rondleiding door de vestingwerken van Vauban, die op de Werelderfgoedlijst van de UNESCO staan.
