En Barsac, la primera iglesia fue construida en el siglo XI y renovada durante el siglo XV. En 1536, el arquitecto Etienne Baudoyn le añade una capilla. Mientras la parroquia cobra importancia, poco a poco nace el proyecto de una nueva iglesia. El arquitecto Claude Joyneau empieza las obras en 1702 y el armazón está totalmente pagado en 1710. La nueva iglesia tiene tres naves y quatro tramos. Un campanario domina el centro de la fachada anteriora. Un arco en forma de pórtico soporta los niveles superiores iluminados por ventanales, desdoblados con óculos, cuyos ángulos son decorados con pilastras iónicas.
