Barsac ist ein sehr alter Siedlungsort, an dem im 11. Jahrhundert eine erste Kirche errichtet wurde. Im 15. Jahrhundert wurde sie wieder aufgebaut und 1536 fügte der Architekt Etienne Baudoyn ihr eine Kapelle hinzu. Da die Gemeinde an Bedeutung gewann, wurde eine neue Kirche geplant. Der Architekt Claude Joyneau war der Baumeister. Die Bauarbeiten begannen 1702 und der Dachstuhl wurde 1710 bezahlt. Die neue Kirche hat einen gedrungenen Grundriss mit drei Schiffen und vier Jochen. Die vordere Fassade wird in der Mitte von einem quadratischen Glockenturm dominiert
Ein Bogen, der eine Vorhalle bildet, trägt die oberen Stockwerke, die von zweigeteilten Buchten mit Okuli beleuchtet werden. Die Ecken sind mit ionischen Pilastern verziert.
