Con vistas al campo de fútbol, este fuerte poco conocido es un anexo de la ciudadela. Construido entre 1850 y 1853, en una colina al noroeste de la ciudad, ocupaba una posición estratégica muy importante. Sus baluartes acorazados impidieron al enemigo acercarse al lugar durante el asedio de 1870-1871. El campamento atrincherado, construido a sus pies, dio cobijo a mil hombres durante 9 meses.
El fuerte está abierto al público durante los eventos (días del patrimonio, etc.).
