Affacciata sul campo di calcio, questa fortezza poco conosciuta è un'appendice della cittadella. Costruito tra il 1850 e il 1853, su una collina a nord-ovest della città, occupava una posizione strategica molto importante. I suoi bastioni a casamatta impedirono al nemico di avvicinarsi al luogo durante l'assedio del 1870-1871. Il campo trincerato, costruito ai suoi piedi, diede rifugio a mille uomini per 9 mesi.
Il forte è aperto al pubblico durante gli eventi (giornate del patrimonio, ecc.).
