Derrumbe de las murallas del castillo de Hautefort en Périgord:
El 2 de febrero de 1897 (se esperaba el día anterior), las murallas se derrumbaron y fueron reconstruidas. Las dos casas devastadas no se reconstruyeron, y el emplazamiento de una de ellas se convirtió en un jardín público, una "rosaleda", fuente de inspiración para los poetas, y quizás para Bertran de Born.
¿Así es como nacen las leyendas?
Las murallas reconstruidas y la torre oeste del castillo dominan este lugar de descanso muy agradable y tranquilo.
