El meandro más espectacular de Francia con el que se ve desde "La Longue Roche" La Roche à Sept Heures se encuentra en el bosque municipal de Monthermé . Este emplazamiento está situado en la cima de empinados espolones rocosos que dominan el Mosa y la pequeña ciudad de Monthermé. Según algunos, el nombre de Roche à Sept Heures tiene un origen muy corriente: proviene del hecho de que a las siete, el sol brilla sobre este espolón rocoso, dándole un brillo muy visible. En efecto, está formada por cuarcitas, rocas silíceas compactas, ricas en cuarzo, que reflejan la luz. La vista desde este lugar ofrece un panorama muy pintoresco de esta parte del Mosa. El interés principal reside en el meandro, considerado el más espectacular de Francia, en cuya porción convexa se ha establecido la ciudad de Monthermé. Este sitio está cerca del de La Longue Roche.
