La antigua abadía benedictina de Saint-Vincent fue fundada en el siglo X. Reconstruida a partir de 1248 y consagrada en 1376, es un magnífico ejemplo de arquitectura gótica. Tiene una monumental fachada clásica, reconstruida entre 1768 y 1786. Tras la Revolución, que marcó el fin de la abadía, la iglesia se convirtió en parroquia y, posteriormente, en basílica en 1933. La basílica de San Vicente está profanada desde 2012, y la Asociación de Amigos de San Vicente organiza visitas ocasionales a la basílica. Entre 1850 y 1866, los messins Laurent-Charles Maréchal y Charles-François Champigneulle crearon varias vidrieras
El recinto está abierto según el programa de actos y para las Jornadas Europeas del Patrimonio.
