L'antica abbazia benedettina di Saint-Vincent fu fondata nel X secolo. Ricostruita a partire dal 1248 e consacrata nel 1376, è un superbo esempio di architettura gotica. Presenta una monumentale facciata classica, ricostruita tra il 1768 e il 1786. Dopo la Rivoluzione, che segnò la fine dell'abbazia, la chiesa divenne parrocchia e poi basilica nel 1933. La Basilica di San Vincenzo è sconsacrata dal 2012 e l'Associazione Amici di San Vincenzo organizza visite occasionali alla basilica. Tra il 1850 e il 1866, i messinesi Laurent-Charles Maréchal e Charles-François Champigneulle realizzarono diverse vetrate
Il sito è aperto secondo il programma di eventi e per le Giornate Europee del Patrimonio.
