Fueron descubiertos y senalados por L. Cadis en los anos 1950. El ha prospectado de manera activa esta region de la Gironde y ha hecho excavaciones en unos de esos tumulus. Ha puesto en evidencia estructuras y ha recogido vestigios de la Primera Edad del Hierro (urnas funerarias, objetos metalicos). Esos tumulus son sepulturas, son varios en el Sur Gironde y a lo largo de la valle de la Leyre.
