El campo del Poteau, este sitio singular de mas de 9000 hectareas, es un campo de tiro militar. No mucho sometido a los cambios paisajisticos, agricoles y urbanos, es un lugar donde subsisten zonas de landes plantanosas originales.
De este hecho, un cortejo de fauna y flora originales relictuel de Landes puede estar observado. Los aves de medios abiertos humedos o no pueden estar oidos y vistos como el alondra de campos, el zarapito ceniciendro, los pipits de campos, la curruca pitchou...
Pero el mas espectacular de ellos es la grua que aprovecha de la tranquilidad del sitio para dormir durante las noches frias invernales de noviembre a marzo.
