Gascuña es una región histórica del suroeste de Francia que, durante el Antiguo régimen , formó parte de la provincia de Guyena y Gascuña. Los límites de la región han variado mucho a lo largo de la historia, y formó parte sucesivamente de las provincias de Aquitania y Novempopulania, del ducado de Vasconia y del ducado de Aquitania. Se considera que compone una entidad histórica, lingüística y cultural delimitada por el curso del río Garona al este y al norte, la frontera española al sur y el océano Atlántico al oeste, restándole el País Vasco.[1] En la actualidad, la región se encuentra dividida entre las regiones administrativas de Nueva Aquitania y Occitania.
