Lago artificial creado entre las dos guerras para las necesidades del ejército con el fin de sumergir los excedentes de munición, lo que explica la construcción en 1923 de una línea de ferrocarril para transportar los materiales necesarios para la construcción de la presa y la munición, pero el proyecto no prosperó. Hoy es la reserva de agua potable de la ciudad de Mende. El lago también es conocido por su rica fauna y flora. Este lago ofrece paisajes dignos de la atmósfera de las tierras canadienses.
