El edificio situado a la izquierda de la farmacia es el Hôtel du Préteur Royal. Tras la Guerra de los 30 años, Haguenau perdió su condición de ciudad libre del Sacro Imperio Romano Germánico y se convirtió en ciudad francesa. Tras la Revolución Francesa, este edificio se convirtió en el Ayuntamiento y después en el Tribunal de Instancia. Los principales acontecimientos culturales y folclóricos de la ciudad, como el Festival du Houblon, el Humour des Notes y el Mercado de Navidad, tienen lugar en la plaza donde se alza el ayuntamiento.
