De la aldea castral primitiva dominada por una fortaleza imponente, el pueblo se ha extendido a lo largo de una calle única a mediados del siglo XIII en forma de un barrio nuevo. En Najac, el barrio bastide se distingue por el ensanchado de la calle que se convierte en una amplia plaza.
