En la plaza de la mairie, el Café-Cantine de Gençay y sus chefs Frédéric Grimaud y Téo Massé, ofrecen a diario platos de carne y vegetarianos a la hora de comer (cocina tradicional casera basada en productos frescos y locales, en la medida de lo posible procedentes de la agricultura ecológica) y numerosos eventos a lo largo del año.
También hay un programa musical, tardes de juegos, aperitivos, comidas con música, así como venta de libros y CDs, acceso a wifi, un café de reparación mensual y numerosas revistas disponibles...
