Situado en el corazón del Domaine de Montaigu y adyacente al Féru des Sciences, el Château de Montaigu es una residencia que data del siglo XVIII, rediseñada en los siglos XIX y XX. Sus últimos propietarios, Édouard y Suzanne Salin, vivieron allí de 1920 a 1970.
Con la ayuda del decorador Adrien Karbowsky, lo convirtieron en el escenario de su excepcional colección de objetos de arte, pinturas, esculturas, instrumentos musicales y muebles. Edouard Salin ha conservado y puesto en valor los hallazgos arqueológicos de sus excavaciones en los yacimientos merovingios. Esta casa de un erudito, maestro de forja, arqueólogo y coleccionista ha recibido el sello "Maisons des illustres".
