Actualmente, el recinto está cerrado al público por obras. Sin embargo, puedes hacer un recorrido por las ruinas y ver el interior del castillo y su bodega abovedada a través de las puertas.
Enclavado en un entorno verde, el castillo de Morimont fue mencionado por primera vez en 1183 y controlaba el valle superior del río Largue. Fue destruido por las tropas francesas durante la Guerra de los Treinta Años.
En 1826, un grupo de patriotas del Jura juró liberar a su país del yugo bernés y formar un nuevo cantón, lo que consiguieron en 1978.
Visite las murallas, las torres de vigilancia y una excepcional bodega abovedada, cuyo tamaño la hace única en Alsacia. Un sendero de acceso rodea el castillo.
Una topoguía titulada "A la découverte des Trois châteaux du Jura alsacien" (Al descubrimiento de los tres castillos del Jura alsaciano) describe el castillo y propone un paseo a su alrededor.
