En 1959, André Malraux, entonces Ministro de Cultura, regaló a François Schleiter, alcalde de Verdún, 16 estatuas monumentales que representaban a generales y mariscales del Primer y Segundo Imperio y de la Primera Guerra Mundial. Originalmente estaban destinadas a adornar los bulevares de París. Entre estas figuras históricas figuran Cambronne, Oudinot, Exelmans, ?
No se pierda
? los bastiones (siglo XVII)
? la Porte Neuve y su antiguo cuerpo de guardia,
? la entrada a la sala de escucha "Artillería" que conduce a los talleres de pólvora de la ciudadela baja.
