La colina de Silbury es un montículo artificial de creta cerca de Avebury en el condado inglés de Wiltshire. Es parte del conjunto de monumentos declarados Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco en 1986 con el nombre de Stonehenge, Avebury y sitios relacionados.[1]
Con 40 metros de altura, Silbury Hill, parte de un complejo de monumentos neolíticos alrededor de Avebury, entre los que se incluye el círculo de Avebury y el túmulo alargado de West Kennet, es el montículo hecho por el ser humano más alto de la prehistoria en Europa[2] y uno de los más grandes del mundo; con un tamaño similar a algunas de las pirámides egipcias pequeñas de la necrópolis de Guiza.[3] Su propósito, sin embargo, se encuentra en debate. Existen otros monumentos neolíticos en el área, incluido Stonehenge.
