Whitchurch-on-Thames es una aldea y parroquia civil en la orilla de Oxfordshire del río Támesis, a aproximadamente 5.5 millas al noroeste de Reading, Berkshire, en estrecha proximidad a Whitchurch Hill. Frente a Whitchurch, en la orilla de Berkshire, se encuentra la aldea de Pangbourne.
La parroquia de la Iglesia de Inglaterra de Santa María era originalmente normanda y fue alterada en el siglo XV. En 1858, el arquitecto del Renacimiento gótico Henry Woodyer reconstruyó completamente la iglesia, conservando solo la puerta sur normanda, el porche sur gótico perpendicular y algunos otros elementos. La parroquia es ahora miembro del Ministerio Langtree Team: un beneficio de la Iglesia de Inglaterra que también incluye las parroquias de Checkendon, Ipsden, North Stoke, Stoke Row y Woodcote.
