El río Avon es un corto río situado al suroeste de Inglaterra. Debido a que hay varios ríos homónimos en Gran Bretaña, éste en particular también es conocido como el río Bajo Avon o el río Avon de Brístol, por ser ésta la ciudad más importante que atraviesa.
El río nace en Old Sodbury, en el condado de Gloucestershire, pasa por la histórica ciudad de Bath y muere al unirse al río Severn en el estuario que ambos forman al salir al mar en Avonmouth, en el condado ceremonial de Brístol.
