La A838 es una carretera principal en Sutherland, en la zona de las Tierras Altas de Escocia. Va generalmente hacia el noroeste desde la A836 en el área de Lairg hasta Laxford Bridge en la costa oeste de Escocia, luego generalmente hacia el noreste hasta Durness en la costa norte, y luego generalmente hacia el este/sureste hasta Tongue, donde se vuelve a unir a la A836. La A836 toma una ruta más directa desde Lairg hasta Tongue.
