Anglesey es una isla y autoridad unitaria de habla predominante galesa al noroeste de la costa de Gales .[1][2] Está conectada con el condado de Gwynedd por dos puentes que atraviesan el estrecho de Menai: el original Puente Colgante de Menai sobre el que pasa la A5 y diseñado por Thomas Telford en 1826; y la moderna reconstrucción del Puente Britannia , por el cual pasa la A55 y la línea ferroviaria de Gales del Norte.
