La Galería Nacional de Irlanda muestra 'Dama escribiendo una carta con su sirvienta' de Johannes Vermeer.
Fue robada el 27 de abril de 1974, junto con un Goya, dos Gainsborough y tres Rubens de la casa Russborough de Sir Alfred Beit por una banda armada del IRA.
La pintura fue finalmente recuperada durante un intercambio en agosto de 1993 en el aeropuerto de Amberes.
