El palacio de justicia, que fue diseñado por Sir Richard Morrison en estilo neoclásico y construido en piedra de sillería, se completó en 1807. El diseño implicaba una fachada principal simétrica con siete tramos que daban a la Calle Principal; la sección central presentaba un pórtico tetrástilo con columnas de orden dórico que sostenían un entablamento y un frontón.
