Luxemburgo , también conocida como Ciudad de Luxemburgo , es la capital del Gran Ducado de Luxemburgo, del distrito y del cantón homónimos. Está situada en la confluencia de los ríos Alzette y Pétrusse al sur del país y contiene el histórico Castillo de Luxemburgo, establecido por los francos en la Alta Edad Media, y en base al cual la ciudad se desarrolló.
El área metropolitana de Luxemburgo, que incluye a Hesperange, Sandweiler, Strassen y Walferdange tiene una población de 103.973 habitantes.
