Lierop es un pueblo en el municipio holandés de Someren en la provincia de Brabante Septentrional. El pueblo se encuentra en el norte del municipio y contaba en 2021 con más de 2.240 habitantes. Lierop fue un municipio independiente hasta 1935. Lierop fue mencionado por primera vez en 1155 como Lirdob y Lindor. En otros documentos antiguos, Lierop a menudo se llamaba Leyendorp. Esto significa 'pueblo junto al Lije', y 'Lije' significa: 'curso de agua'. En mapas de los siglos XVII y XVIII también se utilizaba el nombre 'Liedorp'.
