El Parque Natural Lelystad es un área recreativa rica en naturaleza ubicada en Lelystad, gestionada por la fundación Het Flevo-landschap. Se creó en la década de 1970 porque el zoológico de Ámsterdam, Artis, necesitaba espacio adicional para grandes herbívoros. En el parque se mantienen en grandes terrenos cercados varios animales de la zona euroasiática que ya no se encuentran a menudo en la naturaleza o que están amenazados, como los bisontes, los ciervos de Padre David y los caballos de Przewalski. El Parque Natural es el único lugar en los Países Bajos donde se pueden ver alces.
