Si deseas echar un vistazo a Dwarsgracht, sigue el sendero a lo largo del canal. Al igual que en Giethoorn, aquí también hay mucha agua, canales y botes que son ampliamente utilizados por los agricultores de navegación, quienes solo pueden acceder a sus tierras a través del agua. En el centro del pueblo se encuentra uno de los fresnos más gruesos y antiguos de nuestro país. El árbol fue plantado alrededor del año 1800 y tiene un perímetro de tronco de 415 centímetros. La altura es de 25 metros. El cazador Gerrit Jansz. Otter construyó una casa detrás del árbol en 1882. Las raíces del fresno han formado, con el paso de los años, un gran montículo alrededor de la casa. En el lenguaje popular se conoce como 'el Montículo de los Fresnos'.
