El Museo Universitario es el lugar donde se pueden ver las colecciones más diversas de la universidad de Groninga, desde anatomía hasta zoología. En la colección, la naturaleza, la cultura y la ciencia se entrelazan. Modelos del ser humano y animales disecados se encuentran entre el arte de África y Asia.
El museo organiza exposiciones sobre los últimos desarrollos en el ámbito de la investigación y también se adentra en la historia de la universidad y la vida estudiantil. Además de las colecciones museísticas, el Museo Universitario gestiona diversas otras colecciones de la universidad de Groninga, como la galería de retratos de profesores.
