Klundert es una ciudad fortificada neerlandesa en el municipio de Moerdijk, en la provincia de Brabante del Norte. Klundert se encuentra entre Zevenbergen, Moerdijk y Fijnaart. Alrededor de 1250, situado en una vía navegable favorable, surgió el pueblo de Die Overdraghe. Estaba ubicado junto a un río del mismo nombre, entre el Mark y el 'Buttervliet', que más tarde se convertiría en el Hollandsch Diep. Cuando el río se sedimentó, se excavó una nueva vía navegable: De Niewervaert. Luego, el pueblo recibió el nombre de Niervaart.
