Klundert ist eine niederländische Festungsstadt in der Gemeinde Moerdijk, in der Provinz Nordbrabant. Klundert liegt zwischen Zevenbergen, Moerdijk und Fijnaart. Um 1250 entstand, gelegen an günstigen Wasserwegen, das Dorf Die Overdraghe. Es lag an einem Bächlein mit demselben Namen, zwischen der Mark und dem 'Buttervliet', das später zum Hollandschen Diep wachsen sollte. Als der Bach verlandete, wurde ein neuer Wasserweg gegraben: Die Niewervaert. Das Dorf erhielt daraufhin den Namen Niervaart.
